DAWNING GLORY

Early morning travellers pass in the hued and mackeral skies
as sunbeams show their beauty, to all us of early rise
the silver shimmering jet streams, they crisscross high and wide
as the wind it blows in bursts and sighs, making pictures for our eyes.

Well now we go about our daily grind
in all cities towns and nations
as DJ's blast out noisy songs
that disturb our concentration.

Come close of day we're on our way, back home to same old faces
to eat caviar, or burgers 'n fries, or fresh buns in crinkly cases
the working day now gone away, my life for now set free 'whoopee'
shall I have a beer or two tonight or just a cup of tea?

Yes the kids are home, all lights left on, radio's pc's too
the telly's talking to itself, they haven't got a clue
'cos they don't pay the 'leccy bills, they haven't got a clue.

Time slips on by with blinking eyes, and passes with no warning
as we rest our heads among feather and beds
and soon we will be yawning, the darkness calls, asleep we fall
but a cat nap though it seems,as lightness creeps through window pane
and awakes us from our dreams.

Repeat verse 1.

IN MY MINDS EYE

Strolling through the forest green
Inspiration is what I need
I look at the grass, birds in the trees
The sun shines it’s rays, as the breeze feels me

I kick up the leaves, am I in a daydream
A tear in my eye, what if someone should see
My thoughts are my own now, except for the trees
Cracking of a twig, brings back reality

Chorus
Some people are warm, others now cold
Sometimes we’re timid, but we can be bold
One things for certain, we’re all growing old
And life is for living, not just for gold

Now life can be long, or it can be cut short
No one really knows when our times to abort
We might as well be happy, not all be so sad
Take a Look at our world smile
It’s not always that bad

Chorus.

I gaze down the bank side, and into the stream
A pale yellow flower lies among the evergreen
Water slips slides, and flashes my eyes
As a trout fills its belly rising up for the flies

I’ll end my sung words here, and hope some have listened
Are there golden ends to rainbows, or is it just a rain prism
My words could be different, I know lots are missin’
I go homeward way now, maybe do some fishin’

Chorus.

MINSTRELS LAMENT

As i apply my trade being the choice that i've made
It's not all the roses and the cream
The nervousness and fear and the lumping of the gear
But devotion is the key to all my dreams.

Chorus.

Will the choice of my song matter can i shut up the chatter
as my tunes they make there way to all your ears
if you're feeling really down let me take away your frowns
as you tap your feet and drink your wines and beers

Now as i do my best my guitars they are carressed
as tunes and a songs i've sung a plenty
I give to you my all as the last orders are called
your tables cleared and all the glasses emptied

Chorus

Now to make a night of wages i stand here on the stages
i sing until my voice and throat is sore
But it's always worth the wait and of that theres no debate
When the audience and crowd shout out for more.

Chorus.
